This was one of the greatest if not the greatest adventures of faith I have ever taken part in.I must say that whenever the church gets serious it can do a lot of good.Who can fault the church after repenting and going out?Who can fault the church for taking the frontline in building reconciliation among the different communities in Kenya?I only pray that this is DEFINITELY NOT THE END.I pray that God entrusts the church with more greater and godly ideas on how we can be used of God to bring reconcilication an dtrust once more among our people.Am blessed to have been a part of this and for sure greater dreams have been birthed in me concerning our nation.I hope to get the forum to share with you people what I feel God is mtaking me into.God bless you all

Greetings to Pastor Silas. It was wonderful that all you pastors and believers pulled together to help heal the nation. Regrettably, whereas the violence was broadcast all over the world, your actions did not merit equal time or space. I hope to share news of your endeavor with believers in USA & around the world as best I can via my free weekly e-mail newsletter.

I'm so greatful for answered prayers for Kenya. We had been praying that God would help the church stand strong through the violence and He did. Thank you God's people for all you have given to our fellow brothers and sisters, and for acting like Jesus would. Pr. Oscar, God bless you for coming up with this great idea! You took the mantle without fear!

Hi,and blessings in Jesus name.

I am very happy to write to you at this day according what God did during our msafara trip.May all the glory be to him.
I want just to share with you that scripture because during the trip i did not share it ,i feel the necessity to share it. From Mombasa i got this word of God in the book of AGGAI 2:1_9, i gave to the member of the church we went.

God has done great things about Kenya,he wants us to be together, to work together as a church and people in this country. By work,i want to say this:We need to continue to preach the love of God to any tribe and the word of reconciliation so all tribes can come together, live together, work together. We need to fight the big enemy we have"TRIBALISM" by an interaction marriages. Parent to stop telling their children to have only a wife for their tribe.

God bless you.

Willy Mankumbani.

P.S My name is not Wankumbani but MANKUMBANI.

I am so grateful to all the organisers of Msafara for a job well planned and done, to Pastor Oscar for hearing the word of God and acing on it, to my Pastors for believing in me. I was so blessed to be a part of what God is doing in our country, lighting that 'small' fire in various parts of the country that will soon spread like bush fire all over the nation and continent. God bless you so.

I believe this is a question that many are seeking to address, both in political and spiritual arena. The Msafara was only one of the initiatives of the National Alliance of Churches (a body comprised of not just evangelicals but pentecostal and mainline Christians as well). Others included a political response (under the auspices of the inter-religious forum) and a humanitarian response (in partnership with many relief agencies).

Part of the reason the church was not able to give a unified and timely response was that church leaders took public political positions and thus found themselves unable to work together when the need arose. By bringing many of the important church leaders in Kenya's largest towns together, and helping them not only reconcile but agree to not allow politics to divide us again, I believe Msafara not only addressed the current issues but took a stab at ensuring we're more prepared for future elections.

As mentioned in the post, part of our plan is to pass on the networks that Msafara created to relief agencies and peace-building organizations who can continue to leverage these.

Of course much still remains to be done! But methinks Msafara was a positive start.

I am so glad that Evangelicals around the World and in Kenya have intitiated this response. It seems like a great initial step. My question is what caused this in the first place? Without identifying an intial cause(s) there can be no hope of identifying a solution. What issues/problems/causes of the violence have been identified? It is GREAT that 300 church leaders participated, but what will or can be done differently so that something like this doesn't happen again. Violence of this sort not only distrupts God's Witness in Kenya, but could hamper the country's ability to rebound long term. What, if any, next steps are planned to address underlying causes/issues?

Only wish you could bring it back to Nairobi. We did not get enough of the prayer and dedication. You are doing a great job!

We need to come together for Gods glory but not fame and power.

Blessings and peace to all who sacrificed their time and denied their families to be in this call for reconciliation and peace.

[...] A Testimony: Up until yesterday, John was not a believer. He was one of those Kenyan young men who were involved in the post election violence and looting. He confessed that he barricaded roads, organized looting and violence and led the hate groupthink against certain communities. How he got onto the Msafara is a mystery in itself but today John is a new creation in Christ as he received Christ yesterday. [...]
