Prayer Corner 1

The battle for Kenya is a spiritual battle: a battle waged by the forces of darkness against the nation and fought in the spiritual realms. Demonic spells were cast over different cities in the nation in the run up to the elections and many a political leader sought the powers of the occult to gain favor with the electorate. Spiritual doors were therefore opened that have consequently plunged our country into chaos and that must be closed on the spiritual front if we are to reclaim Kenya for Christ.

Pray therefore for the Msafara wheels of Hope initiative that seeks to spiritually cleanse Kenya. Pray that the clutches of the enemy over this nation would totally be broken and that the forces of evil would not lay claim to any part of this nation. Pray instead that God would sit enthroned over the country.

Pray for spiritual cover for the wasafiri. Pray for boldness; that we would fight the battle from a position of victory in Christ and not fear. Pray for safety as the caravan goes from Mombasa to Kisumu. Pray for the success of this initiative.

The enemy will want to use whatever means to discourage and disorient us as we do battle. Pray that we would not be oblivious of the devil’s schemes: that all the wasafiri would be sober-minded and vigilant against his demonic schemes.

Pray specifically for purity for the wasafiri: that no one would give the enemy a foothold from which to wage war.

In a battle, everybody takes heed not to be hit but it is those at the forefront that are most exposed. Pray for the leaders of Msafara. Pray for spiritual cover; against burnout and good health. Pray for protection for their families.

Several spirits have clearly settled over this nation. Pray against the spirits of tribalism, occultism, violence, lawlessness, bloodshed and death. Pray that in their stead, the spirit of love, brotherliness, peace, reconciliation, harmony, patience would settle over this nation.

Thank God for the spiritual cover he is rasing on behalf of msafara. Pray for the upcoming pre caravan prayer meetings. Pray particularly for the overnight prayers on the 29th Feb. 2008 that the prayers and battle cries that go before God on this night would be like a sweet smelling aroma before Him. Pray that these prayers would indeed be the precursor to the victory that lies ahead.

God continues to excite church leaders in the country about this initiative. Pray that He will continue to even call more to join this initiative. Thank God for those who have expressed a willingness to join Msafara.

One good thing that has come out of the crisis in the country is unity in the church. Pray for a continued unity of Spirit: that the church in Kenya would indeed be one; united in purpose and power. Pray for spiritual focus, that the leadership would not be distracted by material gain at the expense of the Gospel.

Continue praying for the nation. Claim peace for Kenya. Pray for revival; that the Kenyan people would again learn to coexist as brothers and sisters. Pray for those that lifted a finger against other Kenyans and those who looted that they would not have peace until they seek reconciliation with those they hurt. Pray against the spirit of hatred. Pray for conviction: that they would repent and seek to return whatever they took. Pray that where there was destruction, there would be reconstruction. Pray that where poverty has struck as a consequence, there would be economic revival.

A lot of internally displaced persons are still living in the different camps in the country. They are exposed to harsh weather conditions, a lack of the basic necessities of life and sickness. Pray for protection for the displaced; that God would protect them from sickness and disease. Pray particularly for the children. Pray for provision of their daily needs and for peace.

Thank God for those that have given of their time to work with the displaced. Pray for encouragement and also that God would raise up more volunteers to come alongside them. Pray for a quick resettlement of the displaced to their homes and property.

There is a lot of anxiety in the country as Kenyans wait for signs of white smoke from the mediation talks. Pray for the mediators at Serena. Pray for wisdom; that their judgment would be led by the Spirit of God. Pray that they would put the greater good of the nation before any selfish political gains and that a quick solution to the crisis would be found.

Pray for the leadership of this country. Pray that God would raise for Kenya Godly leadership; leaders who are after his own heart. Pray that righteousness and justice would be the foundations of our country.

There have been media reports of several militia groups ganging up in case the mediation efforts fail. Pray against the militias; that they would be disbanded. Pray for those who may be financing these groups: that instead they would be driven by a sense of patriotism and not love for destruction.

A lot of innocent blood has been shed since the disputed presidential elections. Pray for forgiveness on behalf of the country and that God would not hold against us the blood spilt.

Pray for Kenyans: that we would not lose hope in the face of the crisis. Pray that our eyes would not be taken off the fact that it is God who watches over this nation and not the political class.
